This piece is made with a Green Chlorite Quartz, a single faceted Garnet & a real roots from a fallen Ponderosa Pine tree within my favorite canyon all encased in darkened copper! The chain featured one single Ruby Jade bead to represent the pomegranate seeds consumed by Persephone.

This collection is called "The Rise of Persephone". Each piece is carefully crafted with a specific intention in mind involving her story and myth. This piece is specifically meant to represent Persephone rising from the Underworld on the Spring Equinox. The Green Chlorite Quartz has a special earthy/mossy landscape phantom within crystal clear quartz. This crystal points upwards are she is rising to stand alongside her mother as maiden of Spring and agriculture.
I chose tree roots for this piece as they are the hidden growth of a mighty flora. It's the unseen part under the earth that provides strength to the tree we see before us.
The tree roots wisp upwards alongside her rise. See- Roots are bound up under the earth, as is she, but here they are guiding her back up to Earth. The Garnet on the bottom of the root is meant to represent the pomegranate seed. It's pointing downwards as a reminder to her inevitable return to the Underworld.
The single Ruby Jade "pomegranate" bead being placed hidden at the clasp of the chain is intentional. As you wrap and clasp a necklace- you're securing (or binding) it to yourself for the day. Just as the pomegranate secured (or bound) Persephone to the Underworld for half of the year.
